Expo medal delivered to the Pope

Laura Cretara, the world’s first female coin engraver, has presented the official Expo 2015 coin to Pope Francis.

Cretara, co-author of the coin together with Belgian Luc Luycz, in 24 different models and produced at the Picchiani & Barlacchi facilities, visited the Vatican during the general assembly for the coin’s donation, accompanied by the project’s general coordinator, Sandro Sassoli.

The medal also carries a quote by the Pope, pronounced in the video message for the event “Le idee di Expo 2015” (Expo 2015 ideas):

The Earth is not something inherited from our parents, but something lent to us by our children.
