WHY CREATE AN HONOR WITH US?

An honor is bestowed as a reward for valor, to recognize acts of courage and virtue, and to signal their authors as worthy of public honor.

For this reason, since 1902, we have been creating honors for governments, organizations, or institutions that are a source of pride for those who receive them.

With Picchiani and Barlacchi, you choose the excellence of a historic company dedicated to metalworking and the minting of unique and precious objects that last forever and increase in value over time.

A SELECTION OF OUR PRODUCTS

A HISTORY OF EXCELLENCE

For Over 120 Years

Picchiani and Barlacchi was founded in 1902. Despite a century having passed, our creations still have the power to commemorate special national and international events.

The company is now in its fifth generation, led by Matteo Parri, supported by his mother Chiara and aunt Giovanna.

We are leaders in Italy in metalworking, creating long-lasting Made in Italy products following the Florentine tradition.

In our historical archive, we preserve over 400,000 molds that trace the highlights from the early 1900s onwards.

PRODUCTION PHASES

DESIGN

We study the design of the product, which will be delivered to you in the form of a free sketch, conceived in an original and copyright-protected manner.

MODEL

The sculptor creates the plaster model, handcrafting all the relief details with the utmost precision to ensure an excellent result.

BRONZE CASTING

Molten bronze is poured into the imprint obtained from the plaster, and the "artistic model" is then retouched and worked on by our engravers.

PUNCH

From the bronze model, the reproduction of the design (known as the "punch") is obtained through a pantograph. Subsequently, our engravers perfect it using burins. The punch is tempered to approximately 850° to make it resistant to machine stress.

DIE

By imprinting the punch on a soft steel form, the die, or mold, is obtained. Our engravers once again intervene to enhance the details lost during the various stages of production. The die is also tempered.

MINTING

Now it is possible to proceed with minting the product. At the end of production, the die is preserved within our archives to ensure its preservation over time and guarantee its durability for a lifetime.

GALVANIC FINISHING

The product is finished using electroplating. Furthermore, shading is enhanced through patination. A protective coating is then applied to prevent alterations over time, ensuring the object's longevity.

ENAMELING

If requested by the customer, we can further customize the product with enamels.

QUALITY CONTROL

Once the production process is completed, the pieces are individually inspected and selected. Each product can be packaged in a customizable case.
